CC Creation Station Week 5

This is my Chapter Challenge for this week. I did Creation Station and created the scene where the Santander's had to make a zipline to cross the river. I  did this with Maddy and we used real water instead of regular paint.  To colour our water we added a bit of paint such as green, blue and brown and I think it turned out really well. The hardest part was stopping the water from leaking through our cardboard box but after a couple of tries, we got it.  I really enjoyed creating this and had lots of fun.

CC week 4 Research Centre

For my fourth week of Chapter Challenge, I did Research Centre because it was the only task I had left. For our Research Centre task this week it was to research about Bowler hats or Boater hats. I decided to research on Bowler hats because I had heard of them before but never really known much about them and I wanted to find out more. To present my research I used Adobe Spark I hadn't ever used Adobe Spark before so it was a little bit tricky trying to find out how to use Adobe Spark but in the end, I got the hang of it. I really enjoyed finding out so much information to do with Bowler hats.

Week 3 term 1 Creation Station

For my third week of Chapter Challenge, I decided to do Creation Station. For Creation Station this week the task was to create a catapult and write some things about a catapult like what it could be used for. To create my task I searched up an easy way to make a catapult and followed the tutorial. The resources I used to make my catapult were popsicle sticks and rubber bands. I also added some facts that you could launch and people could pick them up and read them. I really enjoyed this weeks task and learned a lot about catapults.

Week 2 CC A way with Words

For the second week of Chapter Challenge, I decided to do A way with Words. The task was to create a letter from Ma if she was able to get in contact with the children. The hardest part was thinking of things to put in the space I had below because I had no idea that it was going to leave that much space. The best part was when I was soaking my letter in tea because I have never soaked something in tea before so it was a first time experience. I think I have created a Supernova because I haven't just written a letter and kept it on the doc I presented it in a really cool way.

Dear My Wonderful Children.

I am deeply sorry I was not able to make it to Grand Prospect with you. But do not fear for I am doing well. I have made enough money to pay for a ticket for the next train. I am planning to try and board the next train to Grand Prospect and find you. If you have decided to continue the race do not forget to be strong and look out for each other and remember all the things your father and I have taught you. I will try and find you but there isn't much of a chance I will. If I do not end up finding you during the race please do not lose hope in me. Because I will find you no matter what even if it means spending every last bit of the money we have to spare. And Sal make sure you keep everyone's spirits and hope up. Well, that is everything I have to tell you for now just remember I will never lose faith in you.

CC Week 4 Term 1

This week for my first Chapter Challenge I decided to do Digital Design. I created logos for the Solemn team, Association of Women Explorers and Montys Mountaineers. The reason why I chose a Mountain for Montys Mountaineers is because mountaineers climb up mountains. With my second logo, I chose a dress for The Association of Women Explorers because most women wear dresses and I thought a dress would look really pretty I also added a quote at the bottom of the logo saying anyone can be explorers if they want to be. For my last logo, the reason I put a beaker for the Solemn team logo is that scientists use beakers when they are testing and studying things so I thought I would put something that relates to science. I think I have created a Supernova both with my Chapter Challenge and my description for this blog post.

Ashley's Visual Pepeha Blog Post 2020

Over the last week, I have been working on my visual pepeha.

I am proud of all the detail I have put into my pepeha I think it is a big step up from the pepeha I did last year.

What I found challenging was adjusting photos because there were always big gaps and photos of the same thing always ended up together but in the end, I figured out a nice place on where to put my photos.


I worked alongside Mia to create my whanau star.

First Blog Post 2020

Something that has surprised me this week is that on Thursday we got to do water game rotations.

The activity I have enjoyed the most this week is that we got to go on the slippery slide to cool off because we didn’t have the pool for the week.

A goal I have for myself this year is to be better than I was the year before and to reach higher standards than last year.

What I am most looking forward to this year is Cross Country because I'm training extra hard this year.

Someone I have helped so far is Ben and Olivia Taaffe with setting up their blogs.

How I aim to show our NPS ICARE this year is to keep looking after my school and community.
